MEet Hannah Melvin – Content Manager
I do enjoy reading as well as writing – some people even claim that I have too many books, but until my floor caves in under their weight, I don’t think I have a problem. At last count, I have over a thousand books stored in my tiny flat, though many have been cunningly hidden under the bed.
Alongside my degree in history, I also have a masters in creative entrepreneurship, which taught me a lot about fine art (I mostly focus on portraiture) and launching a business. This includes things like content design and social media strategies, which has come in useful for my current role!
I still practice my art a lot – mostly to make bespoke birthday presents for friends and family! You can find an example of my work below – it’s a biro sketch of my mum!
It’s a great feeling knowing that you’ve created something that appeals to your audience, and that’s something I try to bring into my job too.
When talking about myself, it’s probably best to also mention my love of Lord of the Rings… One could call it obsession, or simply a decorating theme. Who wouldn’t want a Visit Mordor print up in their living room, or replicas of swords and axes from the films? Certainly not anyone I know.
Other interesting facts about myself include the fact that I legally changed my first name when I was seven years old (this always seems to come up with colleagues for some reason, as if it’s a great oddity) and the fact that my eyes are different colours.
If you’d ever like to have a chat about content writing, or just a conversation about Lord of the Rings, I’d love to hear from you!
